KCP&L Income-Eligible Weatherization
How it works
KCP&L Income-Eligible Weatherization partners with community agencies to provide services under the Weatherization Assistance Program. The program is run by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and is the nation's core method for delivering energy-efficiency services to low-income households. Professionally trained weatherization crews perform on-site home energy audits using state-of-the-art equipment to identify outside drafts and inspect heating and cooling systems for efficiency.
How to get started?
- Find an agency* that provides weatherization services in your area.
- Review the Eligibility Guidelines for the Weatherization Program.
* The agency will let you know how to apply for weatherization, determine if you qualify for the services, and help you understand the entire weatherization process. The agency is also responsible for determining the work to be done at your home and hiring the contractors to complete the services.
Tell your family and friends about weatherization services. It could work for them, too!
