Preparing for electric cars

Electric cars will be available in the Kansas City this fall. To support them, KCP&L:

  • Initiated our SmartGrid Demonstration Project, which will be a testing ground for vehicle charging stations.  We’re also partnering with the Kansas City Regional Clean Cities Coalition on a pilot project to introduce charging stations across our service area.  Learn more »
  • Joined Project Get Ready, a national initiative of the Rocky Mountain Institute that is preparing cities for plug-in hybrid vehicles. 
  • Supports the Edison Electric Institute Market Readiness Pledge to plug-in electric vehicle readiness.

We were also one of the first companies to build a fleet of alternative fuel vehicles. It’s all part of our commitment to support new technologies and improve life in the communities we serve.

 

Just plug it in like you would any other plug to recharge the battery.
