How it Works

Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® is a whole-house approach that helps you make your home more energy efficient. A Home Performance contractor will evaluate your home and recommend improvements that will yield the best results. It's a great way to reduce your energy costs, improve indoor air quality, and help the environment.

Rebate of up to $600

KCP&L is offering a rebate of up to $600 for customers who implement at least one energy-efficiency improvement that is recommended by a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR®-certified contractor.

Easy steps to sign up:

STEP 1:	Schedule a Home Performance assessment from a Certified Contractor by calling 816 835-7593 or email energy@kcenergy.org Home Performance Contractors will measure your home's efficiency with a comprehensive energy assessment.
STEP 2:	Receive a customized energy-efficiency to-do list. After your Home Performance assessment, we will present you with a list of recommended upgrades that will make your home more energy efficient.
STEP 3:	Select the improvements you want to make. Choose the upgrades that work for you -- one, some or all.
STEP 4:	Implement the improvements. Implementing at least one structural recommendation will qualify you for up to a $600 rebate.
STEP 5:	Verify the energy savings through your contractor. In addition to our verification, the Metropolitan Energy Center spot checks projects done by participating Home Performance contractors to ensure our assessments and completed work will save you energy and money.

STEP 7:	Share your Home Performance experience with family, neighbors, co-workers and others. Tell others how they can save energy and money.
