Rebates and Incentives

Instant rebates of $650 and $850 may be available (at the time of purchase) for customers who meet KCP&L's rebate qualifications and replace their inefficient equipment with qualified new equipment rated at 14/15 SEER or 16 SEER and above.

• No paperwork is required to claim this rebate incentive for those who qualify. When purchasing a new high-efficiency system, the CheckMe!-trained HVAC contractor will list the KCP&L Cool Homes rebate on the invoice in the form of a credit or discount off the purchase price.
• Customers purchasing electric heat pumps may qualify for a lower electric rate through KCP&L. 

• A $1,500 government tax credit may be available for purchasing high-efficiency cooling equipment.
