Medical Customer Program

KCP&L's Medical Customer Program is intended for customers who are homebound and rely on electrical medical- or life-support equipment that do not have a power backup supply. We will document your specialized needs in our system and provide you with a dedicated phone number for reporting your outages.

This program does not guarantee continuous service, but does make it easier to report any outages and to track the progress of restoration efforts. It also does not prevent service disconnections that result from late or unpaid accounts. Utility bill payment assistance may be available through local agencies to qualified individuals.

Consider backup support
When weather-related outages prevent you from using your medical equipment in your home, it is important to have a backup power source or plan for relocating until your power is restored.
