An outside consultant working with your Board will develop a strategic economic development business plan for your community, including the following steps:
- Review the goals and priorities established by the existing board of directors for use in developing an agenda for the strategic action plan strategy session.
- Prior to the strategy session, consultant will consult with key community leaders and influencers to discuss and finalize the agenda and the approach.
- Consultant will facilitate the strategy session to identify specific initiatives consistent with the organization's economic development goals and priorities.
- Consultant will draft the strategic action plan and present the draft to the local economic development leadership for review and further refinement.

Process
Consultant will facilitate strategy sessions with community development leadership to reach consensus on strategic organizational and operational principles that will serve as the foundation for improving the overall success and efficiency of local economic development efforts. The strategy sessions will focus on identifying:
- Goals and objectives for growth and development in the community
- Strategic business focus, including programs and services
- Organizational roles and responsibilities
- Other issues related to sustaining the organization, including management/governance structure and multi-year funding strategy
