The approval process ensures that each site meets specific criteria most demanded by site selectors and developers.

Program Objective

  • To establish an inventory of Certified Sites
  • To encourage local economic development organizations to control and comprehensively analyze sites prior to client visitation
  • To improve a community's or region's competitive edge by giving more certainty for businesses in locating and developing projects quickly. This process saves clients' time and money and reduces their risk
  • To demonstrate to a client that economic development organizations and/or government agencies are committed to promoting and expediting economic development projects


KCP&L has teamed up with the Missouri Department of Economic Development (MODED) to offer a statewide Certified Sites program. To start the process today, download the application from the Missouri Department of Economic Development's web site.
